The Polk Museum of Art at Florida Southern College is pleased to present the Pyrography Workshop on Jan. 20, 10 a.m. until 5 p.m.
This one-day workshop provides students an introduction to the traditional art of pyrography, commonly referred to as wood burning. Cost is $80 for Polk Museum of Art members; $120 for nonmembers.
Students will learn how to achieve a range of tones and shades using a special pen-like tool and bits to burn their designs onto a soft wood surface. Instructor Rachel Stewart also will offer instruction on adding color to the finished product to create the finished artwork.
Deadline to register is Jan. 14. Registration can be completed online.
