In any year characterized by hordes of unknown anniversaries, how wonderful to see that we are nevertheless visited by celebrations that are also truly meaningful, such as the 100th anniversaries of composers’ deaths (Claude Debussy and Scott Joplin) and the 100th anniversaries of composers’ births (Leonard Bernstein). This year, Fen-Fang Chen leads us on a delightful journey through a few of these anniversaries, extolling the virtues (and occasionally the imperfections) of those composers. She will be joined by a variety of colleagues, all willing to display the positives – and negatives – of their composers.
