LA PÉRICHOLE by Jacques Offenbach
Friday, March 20, 2015 - 7:30 p.m.
Offenbach was the king of the Parisian operetta, and this delightful production, performed in English,
bubbles like champagne. It tells the tale of two penniless street singers, La Périchole and her lover,
Paquillo. Entering the story is the lecherous Viceroy of Peru, who falls instantly in “lust” with the title
character, and comedy ensues as complications and romantic intrigues arise in this classic clash of wits
between the eccentric Viceroy and the resourceful La Périchole.
Location: Branscomb Auditorium
