The Mimi Hardman Collections and Research Center is part of the Lake Wales History Museum’s historic corridor. The new research center will be housed in the fully restored 1916 Seaboard Airline Freight Station located at South Scenic Highway & Johnson Avenue in downtown Lake Wales. Named for the museum’s beloved, late founder, Mimi Hardman, the new research center will be home to the museum’s collection of 20,000+ items from Lake Wales history. A dedication and ribbon cutting will celebrate the opening of the new building, followed by tours and viewing of the museum’s new Creating Community through Quilts & Art exhibit in the main museum building. Social-distancing measures will be in place, and face coverings will be required inside.
