Join us for a “Picnic in the Park: Valentine’s Edition” on Sunday, February 14th from 11am-7pm BY RESERVATION ONLY.

Munn Park will be transformed into a charming picnic spot with decorated tables, chairs, and tents for couples and families (up to 6 per party/per tent) who order takeout from Downtown restaurants, as well as purchase a $25 gift card from a Downtown Retailer. See below for details, as well as the reservation process. No walk-ups allowed.

Just Dance Academy will provide mini dance lessons every hour in the center of the park. Prepare to coerce your Valentine–or “Galentine”–onto the dance floor.

Grab a delicious “love potion” (or two) from the Just Cares, Inc. tent. They will have red and white sangria, as well as some refreshing non-alcoholic beverages and festive pink popcorn.

Ready to reserve your spot? In addition to requesting that you obtain takeout from a Downtown Restaurant, we also require that each party purchase a $25 dollar gift card to a Downtown RETAILER. (See pages 8 and 9 of the Visitor’s Guide for a list of retail merchants to choose from.) When you make your reservation for the event, you will be charged $25 by the LDDA, and you will let us know which retailer you wish to receive a card from. The LDDA will purchase the card on your behalf, and the card will be provided to you in a festive Valentine’s gift bag when you arrive in the park on Valentine’s Day. You can use that card immediately as a gift for someone special.

The LDDA will provide a tent, table, chairs, tablecloths, a centerpiece, and other decorations. You can also purchase festive table settings in advance for $3 per person. The set includes a pink plastic cup, dinner plate, dessert plate, utensils, and napkin. LDDA staff will sanitize the table and chairs and change the tablecloths between each party and maintain proper sanitation in the park.

Here is how the reservation process works:

Call Julie Townsend, the LDDA Executive Director, at 863.687.8910. You can also text or ask for a call back at a specific time.

Ask to reserve a tent in your preferred time slot. (Do you want to eat around 11am, 12pm, 1pm, 2pm, 3pm, 4pm, 5pm, 6pm, or 7pm?) Julie will let you know what times are available. You will have one hour and 45 minutes to dine.

Be prepared to provide a credit card for your gift card purchase, as well as any additional purchases you might make (i.e. table settings).

On the day of the event:

Don’t forget to place your order for takeout with your preferred Downtown Restaurant. Be sure your pick up time is about 15 minutes prior to your park table reservations.
Check in with LDDA staff and be shown to your table.
Have a wonderful meal with your loved one(s)!
When your time is up, take your belongings and throw away your trash, so LDDA staff can clean the area for the next party.
