Plant City, Florida – Plant City Community Chorale is thrilled to announce it will perform Cantique de Jean Racine by Gabriel Fauré, as arranged by John Rutter.  Also included in the performance will be Joshua Rist’s Invictus at its’ March 25th spring concert.

The French Cantique de Jean Racine, written by the nineteen-year-old composer Gabriel Fauré, is similar in style to his more well known Requiem. This composition is rarely sang in the United States, and the Chorale is proud to offer area singers the unique opportunity to perform this beautiful composition.

Invictus, Latin for invincible or unconquerable, is a favorite with singers and expresses a certainty that life is worth living with zeal and self determination.

Singers, especially tenor and bass singers, wishing to perform these beautiful works along with other compositions, are invited to attend the first rehearsal on Tuesday, January 10th, at 7:00pm at First Presbyterian Church, 404 W. Reynolds St., Plant City.

Under the direction of Claudia Liliana Bolaño, Plant City Community Chorale seeks to provide members the opportunity to learn or enhance their craft of performance, art of singing, and understanding of choral principle and to provide musical experiences which enrich our members, audiences and communities.
