Denham is Professor of History and Director of the Lawton M. Chiles Jr. Center for Florida History at Florida Southern College. A specialist in Southern and Florida history, Denham is the author of six books. His most recent book Florida Founder, William P. DuVal Frontier Bon Vivant, gained him recognition in 2016 as Florida author of the year from the Florida House in Washington, D. C. A popular public speaker, Denham has lectured widely throughout the state for the Florida Humanities Council and other organizations. He is a frequent contributor to Florida Public Radio.
