This June, The Loft Art Gallery will be home to the colorful and whimsical art of Rachel Brame.
Brame’s artwork makes its debut during downtown Lakeland’s First Friday festivities on June 6. A free reception with live music, wine and hors d’oeuvres is schedule for 6 – 9 p.m. Her work will be on exhibit through June 30.
Brame is a Florida artist who enjoys exploring the boundaries of color theory and design. Her pieces often include heavy outlines, bright colors, iridescence and elaborate forms, by using mediums of pen and ink, as well as acrylic paints.
Several art movements have contributed to Brame’s inspiration, including Art Deco and Nouveau. However, she has a strong interest in multicultural diversity, and draws influences from South America, Central America, India and Africa.
