Featuring the FSC Symphony Orchestra, Kira Omelchenko, conductor

Showcasing music inspired by – or written by – Asian composers, Kira Omelchenko and her FSC Symphony Orchestra present an evening of music which provides a glimpse into the Eastern Hemisphere, featuring works by Ivan Borodin, Claude Debussy, Takashi Yoshimatsu, and Tan Dun. In addition, music faculty artists Mark Thomsen (tenor) and Fen-Fang Chen (pipa) join the orchestra in collaborative performances. Included on the program will be pieces that will include Puccini’s Intermezzo Sinfonia, In the Steppes of Central Asia by Borodin, and White Landscapes, Opus 47a, by Yoshimatsu.
